    The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) is a supportive community of marketing and business development professionals. The Seattle Chapter has been helping Puget Sound Region marketers and business developers succeed in the architecture, engineering and construction industries (A/E/C) since 1983. With 300 members, it is currently the third largest chapter in the nation.

    In 2015, SMPS National awarded the Seattle Chapter first place in the 'Striving for Excellence' Extra-Large Chapter category, in recogntion of excellence in their management and service to members. Members and Non-Members alike benefit from the vast amount of educational, networking and scholarship programs SMPS Seattle offers. The chapter is a vibrant and powerful network for A/E/C professionals at all stages of their careers. 

    Nationally, SMPS began in 1973 when a small group of professional service firm leaders recognized a need to sharpen their skills, pool resources, and work together to help tackle the complexities of marketing in a time when marketing was barely acknowledged as a significant component of professional service firms. Today, SMPS has more than 6,500 members who are active in 60 chapters across the United States and Canada. It is the only non-profit marketing organization dedicated to creating business opportunities and enhancing the careers of marketing professionals in the A/E/C industries.

    SMPS’s mission is to advocate for, educate, and connect leaders in the building industry. SMPS’s vision is Business Transformed through Marketing Leadership. The core purpose of the society is to enrich knowledge and advance practices that build business for professional services firms. The core values that guide the behavior of SMPS are Innovation, Integrity, Life-long learning, Relationships, and Service.

    SMPS Seattle Strategic Plan
    We want to be the go-to resource for Seattle's A/E/C marketing professionals. To achieve this goal, The SMPS Seattle Board of Directors has developed a Strategic Plan that will guide us through 2020. 

    SMPS Seattle is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit and is guided by member-approved bylaws, the most recent version of which was approved by members in July 2017.
