How to Write a Winning Reign Awards Submission - Event Recap by Alicia Aravena

Have you ever submitted for the Reign Awards and didn’t win? Or have you never submitted because you didn’t feel comfortable answering the questions? On April 10, the Reign Awards team put together a panel to help with the entry process. Here are the best tips and tricks from past Reign Awards winners and judges from the webinar, “How to Write an Award-Winning Submission”:

  1. Read the submission packet thoroughly, be sure to follow the directions closely.
  2. If a specific detail is asked for in a question, be sure to include it!
  3. Tell the story of your work with challenges, adventures, objectives, and goals as destinations.
  4. There are word counts for submission answers which may take some creative thinking. Use bullet points and truncated sentences to ensure all information is included.
  5. Showing ROI and metrics is important, be sure to include these details where possible.
  6. ROI doesn’t have to be specific to dollars earned, it can include feedback, testimonials, comments, social media interactions, website analytics, etc.
  7. If you didn’t reach your goal, that’s okay! Talk about what you learned during the process and what you would improve in the future.
  8. Include any documentation of the creative processes if possible.
  9. Utilize the additional attachment sections and upload photos, videos, website pages, graphics, and brainstorming documents, to show every aspect of the project.
  10. Create an aesthetically pleasing, simple visual element for your submission.
