How long have you been an SMPS member? 10 Years

Why did you join SMPS? It's such an active organization with so many different educational and networking opportunities.
What services does your firm provide? Geotechnical and environmental engineering, natural resources, hydrogeology, stormwater management, and waterfront engineering.
What are your firm’s target markets? Hart Crowser targets federal, state, and local government agencies to provide environmental, geotechnical, and permitting consultation on existing sites and for new construction; private property owners and developers to support new construction or redevelopment; companies involved in identifying, developing, and conveying commodities; and general contractors and designers of bridges, highways, tunnels, and transit systems.
Where do you draw inspiration from? Books like InGenius by Tina Seelig, the Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell, and Spunk & Bite by Arthur Plotnik.
What ability or skill do you most wish you had (that you don't have already)? Photographic memory and the ability to remember names.
What led you to professional services marketing? A friend who worked at an environmental company told me about an opening for a project assistant/editor and put in a good word for me. After I began working there, I also helped with proposals, and eventually they asked me to work in the marketing department full time. I stayed in the industry because so many people along the way were supportive and took the time to teach me what I needed to know.
