So many times in our work we come across the array of letters bestowed upon the names of our technical staff: AIA, PE, SE, PMP, LEED AP, etc. They serve as marks of accomplishment and knowledge in one’s field and profession.

There’s no rule that certification needs to apply solely to technical roles. SMPS developed the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) program in 1999 to recognize and certify marketers in the A/E/C industry.

Marketers wear so many hats and contribute in so many ways to the visibility and growth of their companies, from PR to business development to proposal production to managing a marketing department. We all juggle so much and deserve the respect and acknowledgement of our industry.

SMPS Seattle is hosting a networking opportunity and informational meeting for marketers to find out more about the CPSM exam and hear how this certification has aided our peers in benefit packages, job interviews, promotions, and industry recognition.
